I’ve never been a huge lipstick wearer but over the last year I’ve been getting braver with colour and my lipstick collection is steadily growing. I’m a huge fan of matte colours so as you can imagine I was pretty blummin happy when a shiny parcel full of the new Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks dropped on my doorstep. I was a huge fan of the Rimmel Kate Moss matte lipsticks so I was really interested to try these and do a full Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick review.

They are encased in similar red packaging and do have the same strong scent that the Kate Moss Mattes had. I can’t decide if I’m a fan of this scent. Its quite a strong sweet kind of smell, BUT the lipsticks themselves are soooooo good I can ignore this. Firstly they are super pigmented. One swipe will apply the strongest coat of colour its unbelievable and kind of dangerous for a lipstick amateur like me. There’s no way you’ll be applying this lipstick with no mirror as the coverage is so strong and I did make a bit of a mess the first time I quickly tried one on.  The consistency is so smooth and creamy. It goes on like a dream and has a kind of velvety finish but isn’t too drying either. From my tests they also have great staying power but I’m yet to go out wearing a shade and see how it does against eating and drinking but I reckon it will do pretty damn well.

There are nine colours in the range and I’ve swatched them all above so you can see the colours. I’ll be honest, I don’t think I’m brave enough for the purple, but I love the range of browns, nudes and pinks. All of them are so wearable.  My two faves are below; High Flyer which is a pinky nude and Look Who’s Talking which is a rich deep brown shade.
