A few weeks ago me and my husband spent our Sunday at Lifehouse Spa and Hotel over in Thorpe Le Soken. We were booked in for the Couples Blissful Spa Break which included a one night stay, dinner and breakfast plus a lovely bottle of proscecco and chocolates, a couples massage and one hour in our own private sleep pod. Plus we could also use all the spa and pool facilities.
Our room was a gorgeous Garden View room with huge bed, amazing views and most importantly a lovely bathroom with rain shower.

After checking out the room we donned our robes and slippers and headed down to find the spa and pool. I really loved the use of glass at the hotel through which you can see original brickwork it was so pretty and made the whole place very light and airy.
The pool area was different to many spas I’ve been to with its choice of dark slate and loungers rather than the usual light colours. As it was a Sunday it was very busy with lots of people in the mineral Jacuzzi so we decided to get out and sit around the pool. There were a lot of towels around and it was hard to find free loungers but I imagine in the middle of the week it would be much easier. We also tried out the steam rooms which were lovely and one of my favourite things to do at a spa.

Later that day we had a couples massage which was fabulous. We were taken to a lovely treatment room which was dark, warm and with soothing music. The massage itself was brilliant and the therapists really listened and tailored our individual massages to each of us. After the massage we were led to our own private sleep pod where we could relax and sleep for one hour. The pods were individual raised beds behind curtains all in a row and we were led down to the end away from a pod which had a group in all chatting. Sadly the section we were in was extremely cold and we just couldn’t relax so we decided to leave the pod and go back to the spa which was a shame.
Back at the spa and pool though it was much quieter and all lit up now it was dark outside. We sat for a long time in the steam room and salt inhalation room plus a long soak in the jacuzzi, it was perfect. Back at the room we had a cheeky glass of fizz before heading off for dinner in the restaurant.

Dinner was absolutely gorgeous and the meal allowance included in the package was plenty to enjoy several courses (note doesn’t include drinks). After a great nights sleep we woke up to a lovely sunny morning and my favourite bit of staying in a hotel – the breakfast. I loved it even more as you can head to breakfast in your dressing gown and slippers which meant after a full english I headed back to bed for a snooze.

After my snooze I went back to the spa to experience a mini facial which I had booked on arrival as Lifehouse had a great offer on; £20 for a mini facial and if you purchased any product the facial was then free. I enjoyed a gorgeous Decleor facial, which left my skin so amazing and I then purchased some rose micellar water meaning my treatment was free which was such a bargain.

After that it was time to pack up and checkout. Checkout did take a while as there was only one person on the desk at 12pm but we were so relaxed and happy when we left and both agreed our skin looked and felt a million times better.
Thanks so much to Lifehouse for inviting us to stay. I’d definitely recommend a visit if your after relaxation and gorgeous food! It seemed really popular for a break with the girls and there are so many packages for one day or weekends. I’d love to go back again for another visit definitely.
