I’ve got so used to wearing loose swing and shift shape dresses I forgot what it was like to wear a more fitted style of dress. This French Connection beauty is everything I like in a dress. A great shape, a great colour and a dress that’s sexy without revealing too much flesh. I love the monochrome look so much and this dress nails that trend bang on (excuse the pun!)

I also decided to try something different with my hair too and thought this stunner of a dress deserved something sleek and simple. Its just a curled look with the hair slicked back and secured with pins, with a little bit of backcombing to create a bit of volume on the top.

I wish I was more of a creative person when it came to hair. Its partly why I got my hair cut as shorter hair is so much easier to manage. Although in saying that I do find it harder in some ways as you can’t just tie it up all the time and as my hair is naturally curly it does take a lot to stop it springing into a frizzy mess at the back where its really short. But I’m loving the colour at the moment and especially opportunities like this to reveal the colour underneath.

This orange polish by Essie has not been off my fingernails all week. Its so vibrant and summer. I picked it up on Miss Makeup Magpie’s Blogsale along with some Benefit Hoola and Benetint (small sized ones) and a lipstick. So far I am very impressed with the Hoola and might buy full size, not so impressed with the Benetint. Anyone any tips for using??
