So happy to have attended the Next Spring Summer 14 Press Day last week. It was held downstairs in the British Film Museum and collections for next season were arranged into fabulous mini installations it was a real joy to walk round.

I was so pleased to see floral and graphic prints are still set to be on trend for Spring, plus some pretty lightweight bead detailing and a softer style of biker jacket looks like a great Spring staple too.

I was also incredibly happy that polka dots were featured heavily too including blouses and jumpers and the display mixing this print with pastel peach was one of my favourite and I HAVE to have the floral denim jeans – so pretty.

The biggest thing I noticed was how many great pairs of flat or low heel shoes there were. As a non heel wearer I struggle to find really nice shoes to go with dresses or for nights out. Next’s SS14 collection had some stunning flats including these cute peach flats with ankle strap. It was the highlight of my day and I cant wait to add some of these to my wardrobe.

The homeware installations were amazing. The collection of vintage style frames, vases and glasses were in shades of silver, white and lovely shades of purple with ornate designs and lots of heart shaped motifs. I couldn’t help but want it all because of how well it has all be collected together.

Food and cocktails were themed to the time of day so we were lucky enough to sample afternoon tea including a fabulous cucumber and prosecco cocktail and yummy sandwiches and cakes.

It was a great press day, thanks to Next for inviting me and has totally made me truly excited for Spring Summer.
