Hope you have a lovely holiday! 6months till mine.. 🙁
I know exactly how you feel.. i always feel like a small fish in a big pond with blogging and the more i get involved, the bigger the pond seems. but as you said, you should blog because you love it. yes noone can deny they like seeing the number of followers rise and the more comments the better, but for me anyways, blogging is a theorpy and especially through the friendships that you make. ive met some lovely people (physically only met 1) and its helped my confidence and also my passion for shopping and also helped in sorting some of my styling issues. some non fashion related blogs have inspired me and never fail to make me giggle everyday.
I too have a full time job and a dog and also a partner that just doesnt understand this world..but its my world. I blog once a week and lookbook once a week(as off this week) thats how iv decided to blog,my pics take minutes to take and i upload and then edit quickly on a sunday and blog is live by sunday 6pm.. thats how i roll.lol for people to blog daily,i dont know how they do it. but its not a competition, its the content that counts and the fact that you may be inspiring someone else.
Id love for my blog to be successful and recognised by other bloggers and companies but that comes with time and networking.
I hope you do carry on,but you have to know why you do it and what you want from it..

I am gonna keep going and just try to enjoy it and not worry x
I’m having this exact dilemma at the moment. I find my inspiration comes and goes-sometimes I’m posting 3/4 times a week and enjoying it then other times (like now) I have no idea what to blog about and 2/3 weeks can go by where I don’t post at all. I see these bigger blogs with a seemingly endless amount of inspiration and I don’t know where to start. I want my blog to be different but it’s seemingly impossible to stay unique and not see the same thing blogged about 100 times over. I say take the break for as long as you need – you should only do something if you enjoy it and not because you feel like you should. Sometimes a break is what you need to realise how much you love something x
You’re right I got my fiance to photograph each of my outfits on holiday – I couldn’t help it – think its in the blood now.
Only Blog when you have something to say, and feel you want to share. I think we put a lot of pressure on numbers and figures, but the main thing is to write what YOU enjoy. I have found that that, combined with commenting on other people’s blogs, has been enough to draw in readers and create friendships. Obviously twitter, facebook, bloglovin etc all help to raise awareness, but it depends what your goals are.
I have been blogging for nearly three years and noticed that twitter sort of killed blog comments. People read but rarely comment- also viewing figures are different for every stats counter I have seen- so dont rely on them! I have seen a lot of bloggers try to buy expensive stuff to impress people they dont know.. just stick to your own style and only do it if you enjoy blogging. If not then it will get you down.
Have a great holiday and we’ll be here when you get back xx
Thank you – thats really lovely x
