The Edinburgh Fringe is nearly at an end for me now. Our last performance is tonight and tomorrow I’ll be flying back down south. I have loved being here, not just for the Festival but the shopping is amazing, from tiny cute boutiques to huge departments stores, Edinburgh does have it all.
So here is my run down of the best Vintage shops here in Edinburgh and what you can expect from each.
Armstrong’s Vintage Emporium
83 The Grassmarket
EH1 2HJ
This is probably Edinburgh’s best known and oldest Vintage shop, established in 1840 this shop is a wonderful jam packed treasure trove of all things vintage. Its the kind of place you need to rummage through rails to find what your after but I love the visual treat of everything on display and hanging from the ceiling.
Its a great shop for classic vintage pieces and guarantees a great shopping experience.
Barnardo’s Vintage
116 West Bow
Grassmarket
This shop is Edinburgh’s first Charity Vintage shop and all proceeds go to Barnardos. A great little shop with some really sweet vintage finds kookily laid out. They had some lovely vintage dresses and great accessories too.
Godiva Boutique
9 Westport
The Grassmarket

Godiva is a cool shop which is a combination of Graduate fashion in the front room showcasing new designs and a vintage room at the back of the store. A funky and well laid out store and great for reworked vintage and handmade items.
Smooch
51 Bread Street

Smooch is a great little Vintage shop with a nice selection of vintage footwear and some really quirky vintage clothing. Nicely laid out and very warm and friendly.
The Frayed Hem
45 Cockburn Street

A really lovely Vintage boutique with a great layout and a wide selection of items. The shop is apparently relatively new and has been really nicely done. I loved this little black sequin waistcoat and could have browsed for much longer.
A great vintage shop.
Herman Brown
151 West Port
EH3 9DP
This was by far my favourite vintage shop mostly because of its selection of amazing Vintage jewellery and handbags. They had lots of gorgeous Vintage beaded evening bags and many many necklaces from diamante to pearls.
A lovely shop and definitely worth a visit.
