I had a pretty busy Saturday this weekend, not only was I invited to the first
Antique Vs Vintage Fair run by
Kingfisher fairs (post to come later) I also had tickets to the
Jacques Townhouse Event in London. I was taking my friend Becky who you will know from my other posts as she is my model for Bang On Vintage I had tickets for the 3.30pm slot and by chance she had tickets for the 5pm. So we ended up going twice and I m so glad we did as there was so much to do one session wasnt quite enough.
The event was put on to promote Jacques cider and was set in a beautiful London townhouse. There was so much on offer from hair styling, makeup, nail painting to cupcake decorating. There was also the Wardrobe of Wonder where guests could try on clothes from Rokit Vintage and River Island and then pose for a photo taken by a marvelleous professional photographer. Pictures are then available to be seen on the
Jacques Facebook page
Here’s some of the pictures from the day.
I wore a River island silk floral dress, Primark plaited belt, Vintage watch necklace, Vintage tiny satchel and Primark pumps (denim jacket is Becky’s and she wore my Vintage cardi)
The Jacques Townhouse
After entering the house you were given a key with a little map attached. This was the key to the bar and got you 2 lovely bottles of Jacques. Then we were led arm in arm by a very handsome bell boy to the Beauty room.
After sitting on a very large sofa of cushions and having our Jacques brought to us by a lovely waiter we both were seated with a makeup artist to have our makeup done all using Models Own. Becky had eyelashes put on, I opted for no lashes.
We then headed upstairs to the wardrobe of wonder and had a dress up in some fab clothes.
I wore a pair of black hotpants and a black sequin top from Rokit Vintage and Becky wore a great dress from Rokit and fabulous large hat. The shoot was great fun, the photographer Terence was so cool and here is the shot he picked to upload to FB.
Here’s his blog if you want to see his work

We then went downstairs again and sat in the secret garden and had some strawberry popcorn
Back inside Becky had her nails painted using Topshop colours and I had my hair done by one of the girls I trained at
Greasepaint Makeup with, it was so nice to catch up and a lovely bonus to the day.
After that it was sadly time to leave and I have to say I’m glad we were able to go to the next session too as we hadnt managed to do everyting.
So next time I went straight for nails and had some polka dots added to my already pink nails and Bex had a massage.
Then back up to the wardrobe of wonder where we tried on the biggest poofiest white Vintage dresses and did some pretty silly posing. Here is the shot picked for FB.
Then cupcake decorating next door – with Bex eating hers and me taking mine home for the boy.
Then we went back down to have our hair done (AGAIN!!) and this time I had a lovely loose plait done round the back of my head. Then back out to the Secret Garden to finish off the day.
And then sadly it was the end. We were given our goodie bags which contained a bottle of lovely Jacques and a canvas bag on our way out (we of course ended up with 2 goodie bags each!! lucky us)
We both had such a good day. The staff working on the Townhouse were so fun and so friendly and helpful and I would definitely go next year and tell all my friends to go too.
All in a great day yesterday. Posts to come about my other actvities yesterday including the Vintage fair and the trip to Peekaboo Vintage.
Hope you enjoyed seeing the pics of the townhouse event. Stay tuned for the Wardrobe of Wonder pics
Lots of Love
